Prices change often, so check the company's page and the price shown before you pay. _Checked on 28 October 2026._ ## The short answer Billing software in India is sold in three ways: 1. **Free plans with limits.** Zoho Invoice is free up to 500 invoices a year. Zoho Books has a free plan for businesses with revenue up to ₹25 lakh a year. Swipe says its mobile app and web version are free "for life-time" with unlimited invoices. Vyapar says it has a free mobile plan with basic features. BUSY Express is free desktop billing and accounting, with no mobile app. 2. **Subscriptions, monthly or yearly.** For example, myBillBook Plus is listed at ₹3,490 a year, TallyPrime Silver at ₹750 a month plus GST, and BillBabu App Pro at ₹99 a month or ₹999 a year. 3. **One-time licences.** For example, TallyPrime Silver at ₹22,500 plus GST, BUSY 21 Standard at ₹16,500 plus GST, and BillBabu App Lifetime at ₹2,999 in the Android app until 31 December 2026. Most of the paid apps in the table also let you try them before you pay. Check again after that date. - **Prices we couldn't read.** Vyapar's and Swipe's price pages load their amounts with JavaScript, and Khatabook's website showed no text, when we checked. We don't copy prices from reviews, resellers or search results, so those cells say "see their site". Swipe's own FAQ says its premium plans start "at ₹233/month". - **myBillBook.** The plan cards show yearly prices; its FAQ's "₹349 a month" doesn't match them, so confirm the price in the app before you pay. - **Marg ERP** says final prices vary with your needs and set-up. ## What "free" really includes A free plan is free up to a limit, and the limits differ a lot: - **Zoho Invoice:** up to 500 invoices a year and 2 users, with "Powered by Zoho Invoice" on your invoices. Zoho says the data of accounts inactive for over 180 days is deleted, after a notice. - **Zoho Books Free:** while your revenue for the year stays within ₹25 lakh, up to 1,000 invoices a year, 1 user and 1 accountant. Add-ons aren't available on the free plan, except document scans. - **Swipe:** its FAQ says the mobile app and web version are free for life with unlimited invoices, purchases and quotations. Premium plans add more; what exactly, see their site. - **Vyapar:** a free mobile plan "with basic features". Which features are basic, see their site. The desktop app is a 7-day trial, then paid. - **Refrens:** 15 free documents, then a paid plan to keep making new ones. - **BUSY Express:** free billing and accounting on a PC, with no mobile app. - **BillBabu App:** no free plan. Your first 5 invoices and 5 estimates are free, with no card. After that you need Pro to keep making bills; the bills you made stay in your account and you can still open and share them. What free plans often leave out: more users, e-invoices and e-way bills, your own branding, and support. Read [free vs paid invoicing software](https://billbabu.com/blog/free-vs-paid-invoicing-software-india) for what to check. ## One-time ("lifetime") licences If you'd rather pay once: - **TallyPrime:** Silver for a single PC at ₹22,500 + 18% GST, Gold for multiple users at ₹67,500 + 18% GST. Both include one year of Tally Software Services (TSS). From the second year, Tally says you renew TSS to keep its value-added services; the renewal price is on their site. - **BUSY 21:** Basic ₹11,000 (listed for non-GST businesses), Standard ₹16,500, Enterprise ₹22,000, GST extra, single user. The software keeps working if you don't renew, but updates, support and connected GST functions need the BUSY Licence Service (BLS), listed at ₹4,000, ₹6,500 or ₹7,500 per 360 days plus GST. BUSY Magic is subscription-only. - **Marg ERP:** the editions are listed at ₹5,550 to ₹26,000 + 18% GST, but the page doesn't say whether that is one-time or yearly. - **BillBabu App Lifetime:** one payment of ₹2,999 until 31 December 2026 (India time), then ₹4,999. It is sold only in the Android app through Google Play, with no renewals. Vyapar, myBillBook, Swipe, Zoho and Refrens don't list a one-time option on the pages we read. A one-time licence for PC software means you install it on your computer and pay again for updates or services later. A lifetime plan in a phone app works for as long as that app is offered. Ask what happens after year one before you pay. ## Costs that come on top - **GST on the price.** TallyPrime and Marg add 18% GST. BUSY says GST is added. Refrens prices are exclusive of GST, Zoho's are exclusive of local taxes. myBillBook, Vyapar and Swipe don't say on the pages we read. - **More users.** Refrens charges ₹1,500 per extra user a year; Zoho Books ₹150 a user a month billed yearly; Marg ₹3,000 per extra user. myBillBook Plus and Pro include 1 user and 1 CA login; Pro Max has 3 users. BillBabu App has no staff logins at all; see [multi-user billing software](https://billbabu.com/blog/multi-user-billing-software-india). - **Computer and phone access.** myBillBook's desktop app starts from Pro. TallyPrime Cloud Access is ₹1,800 for 3 months extra. BUSY 21 includes one mobile app for the first year; BUSY Online (cloud) is ₹10,800 per 360 days, excluding GST. - **E-invoices and e-way bills on higher plans.** myBillBook lists them in Pro Max, Refrens from Plus, Zoho Books from Standard, and Vyapar's desktop page under Gold. TallyPrime lists them on every plan. BillBabu App doesn't make them. - **Renewals after an intro or sale price.** BillBabu App's ₹9 intro lasts 14 days, then Pro renews at ₹99 a month until you cancel in Google Play. Sale prices on other sites end on their own dates. ## Cost example: a shop making 150 bills a month Say you make about 150 bills a month (1,800 a year), one person bills, and your turnover is well below ₹5 crore, so you don't need e-invoices. If they don't, compare the yearly price plus GST and the add-ons you'll need. A low price is no use if the app lacks something you must have, such as e-invoices once your turnover crosses ₹5 crore (Notification 10/2023-Central Tax; see [e-invoicing limits](https://billbabu.com/blog/e-invoicing-threshold-rules-irn-generation-guide-2026)). Three questions to ask before you choose: 1. **How many bills a month?** Does a free plan's limit cover you? 2. **Do you need e-invoices or e-way bills made from the app?** Then look at the plans that list them. 3. **How many people will bill?** Each extra login can cost more, and some apps have none. On features, it does less than many of them. We copied prices as listed, in rupees, and marked sale prices. Where a page loaded its amounts only with JavaScript, we wrote "see their site" instead of guessing. We didn't use prices from resellers, reviews or search results. App names belong to their owners, and none of these companies is connected with this page. Prices change.
