Share the PDF on WhatsApp or print it from your phone. For a business customer, such as an office or another shop, the bill carries their GSTIN so they can claim input tax credit. Sales to walk-in customers under ₹200 who do not ask for a bill can be covered by one consolidated tax invoice at the end of the day; see [consolidated invoice under rule 46A](https://billbabu.com/blog/consolidated-invoice-gst-rule-46a). ## Your item list with HSN codes and GST rates (Kg, Ltr, Pcs, Box) Save each item once with its price, unit, HSN code and GST rate. Units include Kg, Ltr, Pcs, Box and more. When you pick the item on a bill, its rate, HSN code and GST fill in. Since 22 September 2025 most kirana items are at 0% or 5% (loose rice and fresh milk at 0%; ghee, biscuits, namkeen, soap and toothpaste at 5%), while aerated drinks are at 40%. Check any item in the [HSN code finder](https://billbabu.com/tools/hsn-code-finder). ## Stock goes down with every sale and up with every purchase bill Record your supplier’s bill as a purchase and the stock of each item goes up. Make a sale and it goes down. Edit or delete a bill and the stock is put right. Items with fewer than 10 in stock show a “Low Stock” label in your item list, so you know what to reorder (it is a label in the list, not a notification). ## Udhaar: who owes you, and how much Every customer and supplier has a ledger: every bill, every payment and what is still due. Enter the old udhaar as the opening balance when you add a customer. When money comes in, record it by cash, UPI, cheque, card or bank transfer, in full or in part, and the amount due drops. Call the customer from their ledger, or share their statement as a PDF. Show it on your phone at the counter, or share the QR image or your UPI ID with the customer, and they pay from GPay, PhonePe, Paytm or BHIM. Then record the payment against the customer. The QR is not printed on the bill PDF. ## What it doesn’t do: barcode scanning, POS printer, offline BillBabu has no barcode scanning and does not print to thermal or POS bill printers, so it is not a counter-POS system for a busy supermarket. It needs internet. No offline mode, e-invoice, e-way bill generation, GST return filing, iPhone app, Excel export or staff logins yet. Each line is taxed at its own rate, and in your own state each line’s GST is split half into CGST and half into SGST. Current prices are on the [pricing page](https://billbabu.com/pricing). ## FAQ **Can I scan barcodes or print on a thermal printer?** No. BillBabu has no barcode scanning and does not print to POS or thermal printers. You pick items from your saved list on the phone and share the bill as a PDF. **Does BillBabu work without internet?** No. BillBabu needs internet to save bills, because your bills are saved to your account and not only on the phone. **Can I make a bill without GST for a customer who just wants a receipt?** BillBabu bills are printed as "Tax Invoice". If you are a composition dealer or not registered for GST, check with your CA before using it for customers; a bill of supply is not available yet. **Can my staff use the app on their own phones?** Not with separate logins. There are no staff accounts yet: one account is for the owner, on the Android app and the web app. **Is it free?** You get a 14-day free trial with no card.
